HTML CONTINUED

In part one, we learned that HTML stands for hypertext markup language and that we use it to tell the computer how we would like it to display our webpage. We created a folder in which we stored our first page. We will also store all of our pictures and sound files in this folder. Eventually we will have a folder for sound and a folder for images inside our web folder, but since we are just beginning to learn html, we will keep it simple and not create these folders, YET.

In this lesson you will learn how to add an image to your web page. If you have not saved an image to your web folder, do that before you begin your lesson. And, if you are saving an image that you made, make sure you check out the lesson Images on the Web, BEFORE you use it or save it to your folder.

Okay, in the first lesson you located and used these characters:

< this symbol is found on the lower row with the comma
> this symbol is found on the lower row with the period
/ this symbol is found on the lower row with the question mark
For this section you will need to locate a few additional characters:
" this symbol (the quotation mark) is found right next to your return key
= this symbol is found on the top row, with the plus sign

You're ready to begin.
