Determining the Size


One more thing you might want to do is determine the size of the picture. If you tell the computer what size the picture is, then as your page loads, the computer will leave a space for your picture. If you don't, your page will still load, but it may change the way the text and other objects are displayed on your page while your picture loads. Once your page loads completely, it will look the same whether you tell it the size of your picture, or you don't. If you want to determine the size of your picture and you are on a PC, then do the following:

In the properties window that you opened to find the file format, select the summary tab and note the width and height. These numbers refer to pixels, not inches or centimeters. Pixels are the little squares of color that make up your picture. This window will also tell you the file format.
