In order for an image to be seen in a browser, it needs to be saved as either a gif or a jpeg. What's the difference?? Well, first let's look at gifs:
 


GIF stands for Graphic Interchange Format. It is pronounced like "gift" without the "t", because the G stands for Graphic. GIFs are best for pictures that have large areas of solid color, like the pictures on the left and right. GIFs are also good for things like logos, cartoons and text. They are not so good with pictures that have a lot of subtle shades of color--like you might find in photographs.
